OUR STAFF:
Thomas P. Burgess, D.V.M. is a 1974 graduate of The Ohio State University and 1970 graduate of West Virginia University. He owned and operated Stonewall Veterinary Hospital for 26 years in Bridgewater, Virginia, before establishing Broadway Veterinary Hospital and Horse & Carriage Veterinary Services. His has incorporated ultrasound within his practice since the 1980’s. Dr. Burgess is a member of the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.
Sharon E. Harmon, D.V.M. is a native of West Virginia. She is a graduate of West Virginia University and the Ohio State University of Veterinary Medicine. She is married and has five children. Dr. Harmon enjoys reading, singing, cooking and gardening. She is worship leader and choir director at Broadway Baptist Church. Her family pets include three cats, two rabbits and three dogs.
Gloria, LVT, MEd, BA is the practice manager of Broadway Veterinary Hospital. She is a licensed veterinary technician having graduated from Cedar Valley College in Texas. Her undergraduate degree in education was completed at Virginia Tech. Gloria continued her education with a Masters in Education degree from James Madison University. On the farm, Gloria manages an Angus cow herd and hay operation. She enjoys her cats, Border Collie dogs, and Friesian horses.
Krista, LVT CCRA graduated from the technician program at Blue Ridge Community College in 1995. She has worked as and LVT in both mixed and small animal practices since that time in New Mexico and Virginia. Since 2001, she has been working in mostly small animal practices. Krista has an interest in physical rehabilitation in both dogs and cats and received her certificate in Rehabilitative Therapies in 2006. Krista has 4 children and 1 cat. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children.
Tina, RDMS, LVT graduated from Blue Ridge Community College in 1989 with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She has furthered her education by graduating in 2007 from Jackson Community College with a degree in Ultrasound. Her special interests are ultrasound, cytology and the study of disease. Tina lives with her husband, Chip, and Cocker Spaniel, Tamaha. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys spending time outdoors.
Kelly, CVA graduated from Massanutten Technical Center in 2013 as a Veterinary Assistant. She is a proud mom to a little boy, a dog, and a cat. She enjoys spending time with her fiance and son, along with hunting and fishing.
Holly, LVT graduated from North Carolina State University in 2017 with a B.S. in Animal Science then in 2020 graduated from Blue Ridge Community College with a degree in Veterinary Technology. She enjoys hiking with her fiancé and spending time with her two cats.
Paul graduated from James Madison University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Technical and Scientific Communication. He also attended Blue Ridge Community College. and graduated woith an Associate’s degree in 2006. Paul lives in Harrisonburg, and plays table top war games in his spare time.
